William Edward "Eddie" Hough Jr.

Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, on March 29, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Bro Tim Genry and Bro. Jerry Ponder will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Williams Southside Cemetery.

Eddie was a proud graduate of Gaston High School, Class of 1973, and went on to attend Gadsden State Vocational School for electrical training. He completed an apprenticeship with the IBEW, where he worked for five years before beginning a long and dedicated career as an industrial electrician. His work took him across the country, and he eventually retired in the Birmingham area.

Eddie had a deep love for music and was an avid guitar player. He was also an Eagle Scout, a testament to his character, discipline, and love for the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Iva Hough, and his beloved wife, Renee Hough.

Eddie is survived by his sister, Amanda Mountain (Randall Mountain); nieces, Brooke Vining (Joey Vining), Kristy Phillips (Kevin Phillips); nephews, Tyler Reeves (Gina Reeves), Randy Mountain, and Tracy Mountain; grand-nephews, Braxton Reeves, Reeves Vining, Payton Vining; and one grand-niece, Anna Reece Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Reeves, Joey Vining, Braxton Reeves, and Reeves Vining.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
