Betty Ann Mathews, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 2, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Circleville, Ohio on February 26, 1936, to the late Homer and Lottie Woods, and was a longtime resident of Gahanna. She loved working with youth and demonstrated that by proudly coaching bowling for over 40 years and serving food in an elementary school cafeteria.
Betty is survived by her children Joe (Han) Bowers, Debbi (Jim) McCoy, Patty (Mike) Lee, and Scott (Autumn) Mathews; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. A graveside service will follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery, 155 Olde Ridenour Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Conard Wolf officiating.
