Carol Ann Lombardi died on March 31 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Akron, Ohio on March 26, 1940 to Leonard (Tony) and Dorothy (McKean) Lombardi. She was preceded in death by her older brother Frederick and is survived by her younger brother Richard.
She is survived by her adopted son, Robert (Bob) Anthony, whose life she enriched beyond measure. She fought for Bob to be educated through the public school system. Carol Ann spared no expense so that he could learn to hear. She took him to Oregon for century, stem hearing manipulation. She allowed Bob to be himself. She did not look at his disability but at him as a child of God’s.
Special mention should also be made of her dear friend, Joe Maier, who has been and is a huge part in both Bob’s and Carol Ann’s life

On a more personal note, CA was a beloved member of the Lombardi family. She played a big part in the lives of all her nephews. When asked, members of the family remember her
as loving and caring. Several people commented on how much care and love she put into her gift giving.
She was never afraid of stating her mind and putting it out there. She had great life learned wisdom which she freely shared.
After retiring, Carol Ann spent many hours rocking newborn babies in the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She was recognized for the many hours she devoted to this calling.
She also became a very active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gahanna. Her many friends from St. Matthews spent untold hours visiting with her during her final illness and hospice. They were incredibly loving and supportive.
