

Dolores M. Hanson, 81, of Whitehall, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her residence. She was born on November 30, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Spillane and Margaret C. Furta (Stewart).
Dolores grew up in Hatboro, PA. She graduated from Upper Moreland High School class of 1958. She moved to Ohio as her children were growing up and lived in Gahanna, OH, and then Whitehall, OH. She was a Proud Committee member for COTA Mainstream Paratransit Services and she faithfully attended the Gahanna Community Congregational Church. She loved the ocean and passed down a love of the beach to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Hanson and her step-father John Furta.
Surviving are her brother Robert Spillane (Dolores) of Lake Norman, NC, children Debbie Karnes (Scott) of Reynoldsburg, OH, Glenn Hanson of Pataskala, OH, Rhonda Reda (Sam) of Pataskala, OH, Sharon Stecklein of Blacklick, OH, Brenda Dougherty (Scott) of Hilliard, OH, and Steve Hanson (Sayuri) of Honolulu, HI; thirteen grandchildren (Corey, Caylee, Kaitlyn, Kaden, Carson, Kinley, Sabrina, Reno, Connor, Daniel, Owen, Leila and Mia), and three great grandchildren (Rowen, Raelee and Blakelee).
The family will have a private Celebration of Life in June, 2022. Burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions can be made to OSUCCC – James, as she had other family members who had cancer and was devoted to cancer research.
