Donna Taglia

Donna Taglia passed away early on February 1, 2025 after a heroic fight against meningitis. She was 72 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Theresa Notaro, and just recently in November 2024 by her husband of 47 years, Peter Taglia. She is survived by her brother Thomas Scott Notaro (Debby), her three daughters Kimberly Taglia, Vanessa (Dan) Taglia-Geers and Andrea (Matt) Luckino. She is also survived by her three beloved grandsons, Asher (13) and Leo (8) Luckino and Sebastian Geers (9).

Donna was born and raised in Fairlawn, NJ. Forever a “Jersey Girl”, her family loved to poke fun at her east coast accent that never faded. A true beach lover, she often shared fond memories of sinking her toes in the sand and listening to the waves. Her most recent home was New Albany, OH close to where she spent most of her years raising her kids. After becoming an empty nester, she spent several years living in California, New York and New Jersey.

Donna was first and foremost a dedicated, loving and caring mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and sister. She took her greatest pride in making any house a home, no matter where it was. If you knew Donna, you knew her passion for cooking. Her kitchen was the center of any home she lived in. Her cooking won the hearts of anyone who was lucky enough to experience it, as she put her heart and soul into anything she served. An eternal optimist, Donna never settled for anything basic when it came to spending time with her family – she would create magical experiences for her kids and grandkids. Whether it was setting up her guest bedroom like a hotel complete with rolled up towels and mints on pillows, or renting out soccer fields for her grandsons to feel like a star for the day – there were no limits.

Donna was strong and steadfast - selfless, kind and giving. She made this impression not only on her own family, but so many of the friends and people she would meet. Because of these defining traits, she never let any challenge set her back – which is exactly how she fought to the end.

A true Matriarch, there are few words to express this deep loss to our family. She will be missed dearly by family and friends near and far that have been lucky enough to have had any part in her life.

Donna will be laid to rest in a private service attended by close family. The family does appreciate your understanding and respect during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's honor to Nationwide Children's Hospital, in support of her love for children.
