Dorothy Medley

Dorothy was born on December 31, 1932 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the third child of Gordon and Thelma Hector.

Dorothy was married for 50 years to her late husband, Bill and they were blessed with four children. She worked and retired from the Western Electric Company. Dorothy attended Trinity Episcopal Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling, senior aerobics, reading and her daily cup of tea. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Medley, Sr.; parents Gordon and Thelma Hector; brother Edward Hector; sisters Constance Timberlake, Joan Burnett, Deborah Harrison and Lillian Hearon; granddaughter, NaTesa Houpe.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Billy (Robyn) Medley, Jr., Gary (Yolanda) Medley, Cathy (Randy) Price and Linda (Jeffrey) Alexander; grandchildren, Travis (Lia) Sims, Tyler Sims, Kyle Alexander, Taylor Alexander, Billy (Gabriella) Medley III, Adonte Medley and Dwayne Medley; and several great-grandchildren. Siblings, Ronald Hector, Gordon Hector, Jr. and Sandra Holmes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Smith’s Mill Health Campus and PROMEDICA Hospice for their compassionate care.

Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:30am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
