

Edward had a distinguished career in banking, serving as Branch Manager at Citibank and Commercial Lender at Huntington, PNC, and Middlefield banks. He was also an adjunct professor at Capital University for over 30 years, where he taught business courses and inspired countless students. He was a true and enthusiastic supporter of Capital’s student athletes as well.
A dedicated community leader, Edward was a founding member of Leadership Geauga and actively participated in numerous community organizations. He was an avid gardener, barbecue enthusiast, and sports fan, and he most recently enjoyed his season tickets for The Ohio State University Women’s Basketball Team. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports, sharing his love for sports with younger generations.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Elene P. Kent (née Pollow); his daughter, Elise Kent Bernanke; and his son-in-law, Joel Bernanke. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Kent (Lisa Kent) and Daniel Kent (Gail Kent), along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Gordon.
