Gail Frances Lehmann, beloved wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. She was 75 years old. Gail was born on November 24, 1948, in Rockville Centre, New York, daughter of the late Donald Moore and the late Jean and D. Wayne Hallstein. She was a 1967 graduate of Fairlawn High School in Fairlawn, New Jersey, and continued her education at the Ohio State University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in home economics and a master’s in early childhood education. She was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Gail was an elementary school teacher at Westerville City Schools and Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools before starting her own private tutoring business in the late-1990s. She was devoted to her students and always went the extra mile to help them shine. Gail also had a passion for democracy work and encouraged others to make their voices heard through the power of voting. Gail enjoyed spending days in the warm sun and on the beach in Lido Key, Sarasota, Florida. Though endlessly giving and kind to the core, she was a strong, determined force of nature throughout her life.
Gail is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Richard Lehmann; children Courtney and Chris (Amy) Lehmann; her grandsons Jack and Grant Lehmann; brother Gordon (Yvonne) Moore; and nephews Tom (Kristen) and Scott (Carol) Moore.
Services will remain private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Gail’s name to the American Heart Association.
