Born: September 14th, 1937, Passed away peacefully: January 20th, 2025
George Reese was a current resident at Country View of Sunbury, Ohio. He spent several years of his life raising his daughters in Whitehall, Ohio with his loving wife Bea. Before moving to Columbus, George was born in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio. He was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. After high school George was drafted into the Army in 1961 until 1963. George married Bea Walker on September 3rd of 1966.
George was always living life to its fullest. To say George was a fitness nut would be an understatement. George loved being at the gym and loved a good workout. There were many mornings that he would be waiting at the door of the gym for staff to open so he could get an early morning workout in. George continued working out faithfully until about a year ago. George loved his wife and daughters with all his heart but there were a couple other great loves in his life. First were The Ohio State Buckeyes, he was a huge football fan and some of his last words spoken were “Go Bucks!” George’s other great love was his 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. He would proudly tell you that he drove it off the showroom floor when he bought it. George loved to garden. He always had one of the best vegetable gardens around. His yard was immaculately groomed, and he grew some of the most beautiful roses in the neighborhood. George enjoyed square dancing and clogging with Bea and both of his daughters. He was an active parent. With both of his daughters involved in high school band, George volunteered and chaperoned for the Whitehall Ram Band. George was also an Usher at home The Ohio State Buckeye football games for several years.
George loved living for and serving Jesus. George was an active member at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna, Ohio. He loved attending Prayer and Praise with Bea and rarely missed a Sunday morning service. George and Bea took a mission trip to Dominica and had many fond memories from their trip.
George spent his professional life as a welder. George worked for several companies over the years, Wasserstrom and C and R welding and fabricating are a couple that stand out. In retirement George helped Bea with caring for their grandchildren, Reese, Rachel, Riley, Clarice, and Grace. They all spent significant time at Papa George and Grandma Bea’s house and loved every minute of it! After the early death of Bea’s brother Gary, George became a father figure for his nephew Gary Henry-Walker and niece Carrie Pelissero (Walker).
We would like to leave you with a couple of George’s favorite things to say:
“Be good.”
“Be Safe.”
“Love you.”
“Go Bucks!”
“How sweet it is!”
“Amen to that!”
