

James Phillip Thomas, 57, passed away on March 4, 2025. James was born March 28, 1967 to Geneva Prewitt Fischer and Darryl Fischer.
James’ love of family, The OSU Buckeyes and being his authentic self is his legacy. He was passionate about checking in on his family and friends. He loved seeing his loved ones happy. James never missed an opportunity to show up for his family and always had a big smile on his face. James loved to cook for his family. He happily celebrated his family’s highs and held them in their lows. James didn’t know a stranger and strived to include every person in the room. James had a deep love for animals and for gardening.
James graduated from Beechcroft Highschool and got a certificate in Masonry at Southwest career center.
James passion and pride in his work was profound. His lifelong work as a Mason included building many homes, hospitals and businesses. He proudly shared pictures of his work, most recently contributing to the development on Pickerington’s new junior high school.
James left behind a beautiful family, who will remember the life lessons and love he shared.
James had three children, Jamie (Alan) Brozak, Phillip Brozak, and Dwayne (Tisha) Thomas; three granddaughters Brooklyn and Ivy Still, and Aria Thomas; three grandsons Quinton, Michael, and Grant; siblings Helen and Roger Jenkins, Theresa Burke, Frankie, and Shani Wilson; nieces Leah, Rochelle, Chance, Ksenjiq, Imari, and Shiloh; and nephews Dodger, Emanuel, Jordan and Chase; as well as his many uncles, aunts and cousins.
James also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend Trisha Sias; two step daughters, Melissa Sias and Kristy Reyes; and ten step grandchildren Bryan, Jayla, Kaylee, Joshua, Gabby, Ameria, Celina, Diego, Isabel and Jr.
James is proceeded in death by his loving Mother Geneva Prewitt Fischer and his nephew Roger Burke.
Visitation for James will be held on Sunday, March 16 from 1pm – 4pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230.
