Beverly “Jo” Hartman, 72 years old, an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and friend, affectionately known by her friends and family as Jo, went to be with God on February 26 with her husband by her side. Jo was born in Washington Courthouse, OH August 10, 1952 to Tina Aretta Cash (Harris) and Harry Cash of Columbus, OH.
She lived in Ohio until she was 19, graduated from Eastmoor High School class of 1970 and then attended Ohio State University as a freshman. She then moved to Los Angeles with her Uncle Bob, Aunt Ruth and cousin Betsy in 1971.
Jo was very successful in every endeavor that challenged her. She initially worked at a Savings & Loan in West Los Angeles as a teller and quickly promoted to Chief Teller and then to New Accounts. Jo was loved by everybody especially her employers and was on the fast track to become a branch manager of the bank which she eventually accomplished and excelled.
She battled numerous illnesses over the last few years to include having a section of her colon removed because of Diverticulitis, both femurs fractured on different occasions, Ovarian cancer along with the subsequent chemo treatments and the most recent series of diabetic seizures since October 2024. God decided she had been through enough pain and called her home. He will love her as everybody whoever knew Jo does. God, Jesus, and her husband’s archangel St Michael will protect her and love her.
Jo was a loving mother that was adored by her 2 sons, Trevor Michael, and Brett Daniel. She was also the wife and soulmate to husband Mike, whom she was married to for 49 amazing, rewarding, and loving years.
Jo loved to watch her sons excel in sports that included football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf. Jo did not limit herself to just be a spectator but was also a Team Mom, a coach, and later a baseball umpire alongside her husband. Jo was such a good umpire that she earned the privilege of being invited to officiate the Little Leage Baseball Junior Regional Tournament in Oregon.
Jo was also very involved in volunteer work for Little League Baseball in many roles to include Assistant District Administrator and scorekeeper at the Little League Western Region tournament in San Bernardino, CA
She had a great love for all animals, but especially her dogs and cats. Her eldest son often called her the cat whisperer.
