

JoAnn (nee Schrichte) Haemmerle, age 87, born in Hamilton, OH, and former resident of Springfield, Ohio; Naperville, IL; and Columbus, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born July 28, 1938 in Hamilton, OH.
Beloved wife for over 60 years of the late Jim Haemmerle, whom she married June 18, 1960, loving mother of Steve (JoAnn) Haemmerle of Downers Grove, IL, Linda (Tim) Marth of New Albany, OH, Lisa (Todd) Miles of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mike (Cathy) Haemmerle of Carroll, OH, adored grandmother of Matt (Beth) Haemmerle, Katie Haemmerle and Sahill Tembulkar, Robert (Nadia) Haemmerle, and Tim Haemmerle; Holly (Matt) Davidson, John (Ashley) Marth, Kevin Marth, and Peter Marth; Jim Miles, Maggie (DJ) Valenti, Andy (Casey) Miles, Elizabeth (Dan) Moran, Joe Miles, and Lucy Miles; Rev. Michael Haemmerle, Mary Haemmerle, John Haemmerle, AnnMarie Haemmerle, and Molly Haemmerle, cherished great-grandmother of Lucy, Benjamin, and Elizabeth Haemmerle; Amira and Rafael Haemmerle; Maddox and Leo Davidson; Annie, Audrey, and George Marth; John Paul, Veronica, and Peter Miles; and Colin Moran, devoted daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Schrichte, daughter-in-law of the late George and Margaret Mary Haemmerle, sister of the late Peg (Jack) Hoban, dear sister-in-law of Mary (and the late Ed) Leyes, and Rev. Gerald Haemmerle, fond aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend of many.
JoAnn graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Cincinnati as a Registered Nurse. She served as a nurse in several roles, the longest as a pediatric nurse in an office setting and at Illinois Benedictine College. Jim and JoAnn lived in Naperville, IL for 46 years where their four children attended Benet Academy. Jim and JoAnn began a second career together after all their children were in college as the owner and operator of two Gloria Jean’s coffee shops. JoAnn shared her warm and social personality with their employees and customers. JoAnn was most passionate about spending time with Jim and their family, hosting holiday gatherings and vacations. JoAnn and Jim loved to attend all the special events and activities of their nineteen grandchildren. JoAnn devoted much time and love getting to know her grandchildren as they grew into the special people she was so very proud of. JoAnn lived a life of selfless giving to family, friends, and those she would talk with anywhere (including the grocery line). JoAnn, along with Jim, set a beautiful example of the importance of living a good and intentional life focused on faith and family.
Visitation for JoAnn will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Road, New Albany, OH 43054, from 1:00pm-2:00pm, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 2:00pm.
