Joseph Edward Zitko (Joe), 77, of Pataskala Ohio, passed away on May 15, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Robison Zitko and father Peter (Pete) Zitko. He is survived by his wife, Kara Kerstein Zitko and children Blake and Michelle. He was able to get to know and dote on his first two grandchildren Lane and Jeremy Joseph (JJ).
Raised in Cadiz, Ohio, Joe quickly set off to explore the world as an Airman First Class in the United States Force. While in the Air Force, Joe earned a reputation as being someone who could, and would, fix anything while leveraging his ingenuity to identify solutions to any problem. He was extremely proud of the work he did servicing the C130 Hercules aircraft.
After serving honorably, Joe eventually began working at State Farm. He brought his quick wit and mechanical expertise to a number of roles over the course of his 35 year career. It was at State Farm where he met his wife of 41 years, Kara Kerstein Zitko.
Living in central Ohio, favorite pastimes over the years would include family trips to Disney World, restoring classic cars, woodworking and craftmanship, home improvement, and later, spending time making one of a kind pieces of furniture for his family and unique toys for his grandchildren.
In addition to the pride he had in his work, and as a proud Air Force Veteran, Joe would be known as a father and friend to many, offering time, help, and support to anyone in need. His attention to detail was evident in the woodwork, auto restoration, and home improvements he spent his time on, and those who would meet him would quickly call him friend.
His memory and legacy are and will be a blessing to everyone he touched.
