Kathy graduated from Pymatuning High School and was a member of the National Honors Society, then went on to earn a degree from Bowling Green State University in Child and Family Development. Kathy worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for Mount Carmel East Hospital for many years. Kathy also babysat for several families over the years.
Kathy loved spending time with her family as they were dearly important to her, playing many card games especially Uno, Euchre, Phase 10 and was also a very skilled Scrabble player. Kathy also loved to spend her time knitting for those she loved and those who needed an extra prayer as she often made and donated prayer shawls for the church. She enjoyed reading and listening to books, and loved her gospel music. She was the sweetest lady with the biggest smile you will ever see. She was brutally honest and was also able to keep a secret when needed. She was always a shoulder you could cry on and someone who was always there to listen. Kathy also dearly loved her numerous guide dogs including her most recent dog Ginger. She was never far from her side and laid vigil by her bedside after she came home on hospice.
Over the years Kathy loved and supported the Cleveland Indians/Guardians. She loved to listen to their games on the radio and followed along every season. She also loved to cook and bake. Her rolls and buckeyes were just some of her favorites to make. She truly enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, whether it was at a cookout or a baseball game or a band concert she was always there for us.
A special thank you to the Care 360 Hospice and the staff at St. Ann’s Hospital 3 South; the tremendous nurses and aides for their hard work and the love that they shared with her and our family during these last few weeks.
