Larry was an avid high school basketball player for East Knox High School, graduating in 1968. In April 1969 he was drafted into the U.S. Army, but enlisted 6 days later and served two tours in Vietnam as a petroleum and cooperative fuels research specialist on Mai Lai island.
Between tours, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Jeanne Kanuckle (Reed) in North Carolina on February 22, 1971.
Larry was the first person in his family to go to college, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology in 1981 from Franklin University. Larry’s first career was as an electrical engineer, but he never liked having to wear a suit and tie to work. He later spent 25 years as a school bus driver for Gahanna Jefferson Public schools where he served as union president for the bus drivers and was instrumental in starting the Gahanna Lincoln High School bowling team.
Larry loved having dinner with his family and dominating the euchre table, but also enjoyed pranks, bowling, poker, woodworking, and fast cars.
Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents Ted and Zella Cullison, parents Russell Noel Kanuckle and Eloise Dickenson (Cullison), step father Eldon “Budd” Dickenson, uncle Paul “Sonny” Kanuckle and aunt Sandra Farmer.
