Mabel Y. Edwards

Mabel Y. Edwards, died peacefully at Mount Carmel East Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Born on August 10, 1934 to parents Thurn and Nora (Savage) Hatfield of Jamboree, Kentucky.

Survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack Edwards; son, David (Debbie); sister, Edna Blackburn; grandsons, Zach Edwards (Misty) and Sam Edwards (Mary); granddaughter Alisha and great grandchildren, Trent, Logan and Lexi. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Edwards; brothers, Ray, Bill, Woodrow and Willard Hatfield and sister, Marie Hatfield.

Mabel graduated from Phelps High School in Phelps, Kentucky in 1953. She married the love of her life, Jack Edwards after he returned from surviving serving in the Navy during the Korean War. They were married February 14, 1958. Mabel worked for Lucent Technologies for 29 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to all types of flowers. She enjoyed her vegetable garden, and feeding the birds. Mabel and Jack enjoyed traveling to many special places. She was a good mother to her two sons David and Terry. She loved her cats, Boots, Tinkerbell and Pretty Boy. She also enjoyed Mercybell. Mabel lived a full life with many friends and cherished relatives and a lifetime of memories with her family. Mabel will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Service will be held 12:30 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230, where family will receive friends from 11:00 am -12:30 pm Tuesday. Interment to follow Mifflin Cemetery.
