Madeline Wiggins, a woman of unwavering faith and devotion to her family, passed away on February 7, 2026. Born on July 7 in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the youngest of eleven children born to Madeline (Augustin) and Louis Joseph Vetter, Sr.
She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, and she carried the lesson of her Catholic upbringing throughout her entire life. She married Vallee Wiggins on June 6, 1964.
A lifelong homemaker, she poured her energy into her children and her parish community at St. Patrick’s Church. Her devotion to Mother Mary was the cornerstone of her life – a quiet strength that guided her through every joy and sorrow.
When her children were grown, she embraced a newfound passion for travel. She delighted in exploring the word, from the sanctity of Fatima and Lourdes to the spirited biergartens of Germany and the historic greens of St. Andrews in Scotland. She lived with a genuine zest for life.
Family was her greatest pride. As the “baby” of the Vetter clan, she was the beloved aunt to 71 nieces and nephews and generations beyond. She was the last surviving sibling of her ten brothers and sisters and her role as the family matriarch remained central until her final day.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Valerie; and her ten siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her husband, Vallee; her sons Nicholas and Jeffrey; her daughter, Lisa (Jon); and her two granddaughters, Allison and Emily.
Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
