Michael James Durbin

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael J. Durbin of Galena, OH. He was born Nov. 28, 1968, in Columbus and passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 27, 2025. Michael was a proud alumnus of St. Francis DeSales High School, Class of ‘87. He went on to graduate from Ohio University in Business Administration in ‘91 and obtained his MBA at The Ohio State University in ‘95. Michael was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection. He was an accomplished, successful, and hard-working businessman and entrepreneur.

Michael was a loved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He lived by the mottos “God first, family and friends” and “Live while you’re livin”. Michael will always be remembered as a fun-loving host whose door was always open, a rowdy OSU fan, and for his can-do attitude. He was a man of great generosity and even greater faith. There was not a room that he entered without bringing laughter and joy, nor a person he met that didn’t consider him a friend.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 33 years, Joanne Durbin; his children Jamie Gregory (Logan), Samantha Durbin (Andrew), and Will Durbin (Sarah); mother, Monica Durbin; siblings Sean Durbin (Ann), Andrew Durbin (Debbie) and Kate Letzelter (Matt), beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and man’s best friend, ZuZu. He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Durbin.

A Mass will take place on October 10, 2025 at 11am at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd New Albany, Ohio 43054 and a luncheon will be immediately following.
