Michael Eugene Kellner age 77, can finally rest easy and breathe freely. He peacefully joined his high school sweetheart, Kathi Kellner and beloved fur baby Oreo in heaven on Saturday 11/2 with his loving family by his side, hand in hand.
Born on June 12, 1947, Michael lived much of his life in Gahanna and graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. He selflessly served his country with the United States Air Force and devoted many years as a loyal employee for Ohio Bell and Ameritech.
He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Kellner, father and mother, Howard and Joan Kellner (Hoover), mother and father-in-law Donald and Joanne Albright (Ferree), sister Beverly Harbuck, brother-in-law Jack Albright and his best furry friend, Oreo Kellner.
Michael is survived by his son Todd (Tia) Kellner, Nicole (Caleb) Bandy and grandson Lennon Bandy of whom he thought the world of and loved with every ounce of his soul. Michael is also survived in this life by the grace of his supportive sisters, Carol (Jess) Dowdle, Susie (Bruce) Riegler, Nancy Crawford and sister-in-law Kay (Michael) Kennedy. Extended family members include Jim Harbuck, Amy Albright, Craig (Andrea) Albright and numerous nieces and nephews that loved Uncle Mike dearly.
Michael was one of a kind! A decorator extraordinaire, meticulous gift wrapper, frequent animal shelter visitor and master of the air fryer. Mike loved nothing more than trying out new recipes and spending time with his family. He also never met a barbequed rib, wheel of cheese, corn on the cob or a popsicle that he didn’t love.
Funeral arrangements courtesy of Schoedinger Margarum Northeast in Gahanna. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 11/16 at 10:00 AM at The Gahanna Community Church located at 470 Havens Corners Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Mike to either the Licking County Humane Society or The American Heart Association.
Lastly, the family would like to say thank you to all the friends, neighbors and family that were there to support Michael over the past few years. We couldn’t have done it without you and neither could Mike.
