Nancy Jones

Nancy L. Jones, age 87 of Columbus, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024. Nancy was born on June 6, 1937 to Fred and Frances Ryan. A lifelong resident of Central Ohio, she was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School. Nancy was married to her high school sweetheart, Paul R. Jones, for 66 years until his passing in 2021.

Nancy was proud to call herself a homemaker, taking loving care of Columbus Police Officer Paul and raising three children. She was an avid baker and cake decorator, and everyone looked forward to her special-made cake creations on their birthdays. Nancy loved her flowers, gardening, and especially the chickens on her farm in Johnstown. Nancy could sew up a storm and would create clothes, cabbage patch dolls and quilts, among other items. Nothing made her happier than a Saturday morning at a swap meet.

Nancy was quick to laugh and had the kindest heart. She will be sorely missed by her family, her close friends, and virtually everyone who made contact with her as she never met a stranger.

In addition to her husband Paul and parents Fred and Frances Ryan, Nancy is preceded in death by sister Sue Ryan and son Mark Jones. She is survived by children, Rick (Mary Ann) Jones and Jana Bailey; grandchildren, Gerri Byers, Brad (Christine) Byers, Alexis (Tyler) Grandon, Liz (Michael) Windle and Pat (Jimmy) Gould; great-grandson, Joseph Paul Grandon and Asher James Grandon.

Friends may gather at Grace Life Church, 6000 Johnstown Rd, New Albany, OH 43054, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10AM to 11AM, funeral service to begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. JOHNSTOWN RD
