Paul was a devoted fan of the band KISS, WWE wrestling, football and anything sci-fi. He loved Star Trek, Marvel movies and the original Star Wars trilogy, the latter of which he rewatched endlessly in theaters as a kid. Paul’s favorite football teams were the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State Buckeyes. During football season, weekends were off-limits—trying to reach Paul during a game was near-impossible. And if a KISS concert was within three states, he was there cheering them on in the crowd.
Paul's love of music and rock-and-roll helped shape his career. After attending college at Ohio State and Devry, he left to work as a Light and Sound Technician for many years, travelling the world to help bands put on unforgettable shows. He later started a family, finishing his career as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service.
Paul is survived by his children, Blake, Nicole, and Matthew Finke along with their mother and their half-brother, Nathaniel; his siblings, Honey (Dan) Whalen, Stephanie (Dennis) Brewster, and Mitchell Finke; and his nieces and nephews, Melanie and Sam Whalen, Rebecca and Evan Brewster as well as several beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and his lifetime friends Kurt and Scott. He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Sue Finke,
A graveside service will take place on Friday October 31, 2025 at 11:30am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213.
