

Richard graduated from Roxana High School in Illinois and Utah State University, earning a Bachelors in business. He spent over 30 years with Westinghouse in several sales roles. On September 6, 1969, he married Mary Beth, and spent over 55 years together, raising 3 sons. His hobbies included working in his garage and doing other projects around the house, including. taking care of his lawn. He coached several little league baseball and basketball teams. Richard was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, along with rooting on the Ohio St. Buckeyes, Kentucky Wildcats, and the Utah St. Aggies.. Most of all, he loved talking with others. He never met a stranger and always had a story to share.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Beth(Haas), his sons Rick of Gahanna, OH, Patrick(Mary) of Maplewood, OH, Nick(Tara) of Lexington, KY, and grandchildren Avery and Gavin Spicer, to whom he was affectionately known as "Gramps".
Richard was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Richard's life on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 1-3 pm. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. JOHNSTOWN RD. 43230.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Richard's name.
