First born to his parents, he was the apple of his mother’s eye and a beloved big brother to all his siblings. He served his country as a member of the Army in the Vietnam War (1966-1968). Bob was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured time spent with his family. He was a great friend to many people in his life.
Bob was an avid golfer who spent many hours on the golf course, and without a doubt, some of his favorite times were with his brother and best friend, Rick. He was a passionate sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Pirates, a legacy that will be carried on by his son, Robert. As Grandpa to many grandchildren in youth sports, you could find him year-round sitting at some sporting event. Whether in the bleachers at a football or baseball game, the indoor confines of a gymnasium for basketball or wrestling, or the sidelines of a soccer field or hockey rink, Grandpa was always there. Bob was kind, smart, patient, funny and loving. He was easy to talk to and loved by many. He will be missed beyond belief.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne, his children, Lisa (Jim) Hansen, Denise (Mike) Horvath and Bob (Betsy) McCullough and his wife’s daughter, Kristin (Mike) Borror, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother Rick McCullough, sisters Diane (Doug) Carman, Marsha (Mike) Pesek, Cindy (Dan) Stone, Mary (Mark) Vivis, Ruth (Bryan) Willey, and many, many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. McCullough and Martha Mae McCullough, and grandson, Wesley R. Landrum.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 280 N. Grant Ave, Columbus, OH 43215, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The internment of his remains will happen at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio.
