Robert Thurman Slane

Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thurman “Babe” Slane and Elizabeth Slane, along with his parents, Chester McKinley Slane and Betty Jane (Bukey) Slane. He graduated from Bexley High School in 1961 and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a tool and die maker, working for Western Electric, General Motors, and Columbus Auto Parts. Later in life, he transitioned into a role as a sales representative for DoALL.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Deborah (O’Neil) Slane. He was a proud and devoted father to Heather (Tim) Huggins of Pensacola, Florida; Robert (Audry) Slane of Birmingham, Alabama; and Preston (Jackie) Green of Indianapolis, Indiana. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Bryson, Seth, Tanner, Katelynn, and Harrison, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Robert found great joy in his favorite hobbies, fishing and boating. He especially treasured the opportunities to travel and was always up for a cruise.
