

Ronald Glenn Simpson, 81, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Neil “Mac” and Ava “Blanche” Simpson November 9, 1940. Ronnie grew up in Marysville and was known for his many shenanigans and involvement with Boy Scouts. He graduated from Heidelberg University and got his Master’s Degree from Xavier University. Ron began his 33-year teaching career in Oregon, Ohio. He left a legacy which includes arm circles, fly bomer fly, and roller skating through the hallways at Goshen Lane Elementary in Gahanna. Ron was a volunteer firefighter with Marysville and Mifflin Township Fire Departments for 20 years. He was also an auxiliary police officer with Gahanna Police Department. Ron was known for and enjoyed volunteering. Over the years, he volunteered for Boy Scouts, Red Cross, Stonybrook, and an impressive 20 years with Gahanna Lincoln Instrumental Music Boosters. Ron also enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, watching football (especially his Buckeyes), and telling stories to anyone who would listen.
Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Simpson; daughters Ronda Lynn Beheler and Tari Ann Bocook; son-in-law Chris Beheler; grandchildren Johnathan and Christina Beheler, Colton “Sport” Bocook; brother Chuck (Donna) Simpson.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. Ron’s memorial service will take place the following morning at 10:30am at Stonybrook United Methodist Church, 485 Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stonybrook’s music department: Stonybrook UMC, 485 Cherry Bottom Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230.
