Sally Lee Blasche, age 73, of Columbus, OH, formerly of the South Side of Columbus, passed away on August 31, 2024. Born on March 11, 1951, on the South Side of Columbus, Sally was a vibrant soul whose passions enriched the lives of those around her.
Sally found joy in the simple pleasures of running on the trails of Blendon Woods Park, birdwatching, and meticulously taking care of her house plants. She loved to cook and play chess, but especially loved her dear cats. An ardent fan of The Ohio State University football, Sally was known for her unwavering support of the Buckeyes, always waiting to leave the Shoe until Carmen Ohio was played.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Jean Wilcox, and her sister, Susan Wilcox. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Wenzel Blasche, her niece Angie Fair, her nephews Brent and Bryan Wilcox, her best friend and running partner, Rick Lemmons. Sister in law Kathy Schwarz and sister-in-law Jeannie/Sam Ricci.
Sally’s vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A celebration of Sally’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions be made to The Cat Welfare Association in Sally’s name, 741 Westmore Road, Columbus, OH 43214, reflecting her lifelong love for her feline friends.
