A local business owner for over 45 years, Terry was known for his hard work, integrity, and dedication to his community. He had a gift for connecting with people—whether through a helping hand, a heartfelt story, or one of his many corny jokes.
Terry was an active and cherished member of Grace Life Church in New Albany, where he started the Weekly Men’s Breakfast Prayer Group over 30 years ago and it’s still going strong. His faith guided his life, and he lived it out through service, generosity, and joy. He loved to give, loved to laugh, and most of all, loved to make others happy.
Along with his lifelong friend and mentor, Ed Sommer, they hosted a biannual fishing trip on Lake Erie an open their neighboring homes for overnight stays. Another joy and special tradition with his son were to get together every Sunday night and watch WWE together, a cherished ritual.
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen Welsh; parents Joseph George and Geneva Ann Welsh, and siblings; Margaret M Franklin and Howard E Welsh.
He is survived by his loving children; Stacy Kirkendall (Patrick Mulholland), Stephanie Jones (Dani Rutherford), Katrina Rollins, Kristi (Scott) Brown, Kateri (Mark) Voit, Sonja (John) Milligan and Terry Welsh II. Grandchildren; Katey (Colin) Singleton, Luke Voit, Vincent Rollins, Seth (Sophia) Brown, Josh Brown, Zachary (Kelli) Kirkendall, Katelyn Kirkendall, Allison Smith, Avery Jones, Amanda Jones, Alexis Burgess and Great Grand Children; Booker Smith, Merrick Brown, Samual Singleton and Thadeaus Singleton and his significant other and lifelong friend of 30 years Julie Collart.
