

Bill was a graduate of the College of Great Falls Montana and held an advanced degree from the University of Utah. He was retired from the City of Columbus where he worked as a personnel analyst for the Civil Service Commission. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked as a medic during the Viet Nam war. He was honorably discharged after 12 years of service.
He loved to golf and has a low handicap of 8 strokes (Or so the story goes.) Bill was involved in the Masonic Order and was a 33rd degree freemason. Bill was an active participant in the early morning Badminton Crew at the Eldon Ward YMCA for many years. Grandpa Bill was the Founder and host of Thursday family dinners which featured lots of good grilled foods! Bill was a diehard Steelers fan!
William Coty was predeceased by parents Ethyl Mae Boone (Thomas Powell) and Lee Terry; siblings Alice and Ulysses. Survived by sister Martha (Randolph) Lawrence; significant other of 50+ years, Faye Pedersen; son Michael Terry, daughters Billiejean (Bob) Shepherd, Terry (Bill) Hickey, Sylvia (Larry) Walters, Julia (Terry) Smith; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held for William on Friday, February 09 from 10AM-12PM followed by a 12PM funeral service at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH. Services will be officiated by Pastor Chris Kinner of Journey Church. Interment at Mifflin Cemetery is to immediately follow. Following the burial, a repast will take place at Journey Church 233 E Broadway Avenue, Westerville, OH 43081 to share food and fond memories.
