Albert P. King, age 94 of Gardendale, AL was born in Hamilton, AL on March 10, 1922 and passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Mr. King was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served his country proudly during WW II. He fought in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe and was decorated with the WW II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. Mr. King was retired from Roadway Express Transportation and was a retired Minister and Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy with membership at Cordova. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Velma Williams King; two sons, Jerry King (Pam) and Jimmy King (Jimmie Lynn); brother, Joel King; grandchildren, Kelly Peavy, Jerry Jr., Katie Ferraro, Jimmy Jr., and Jeff; Great grandchildren, Dalton, Alex, Alyssa, Jacey, Tripp, Jack, Colton, Lanee, Chaney, Sophia, Lexee, and Lawson; a host of nieces and nephews.
A chapel service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
