Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 4, 1944, she devoted her life to her beloved husband and 3 children and was affectionately known as Granny to her 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Ann cared deeply for her family and eagerly anticipated the holiday gatherings at her home. Despite the large crowd, she made sure to find time for everyone present and made a lasting impact on the lives of those she met. She was also the surrogate mother to many, many friends of her children. Ann spent the final few years of her life with her beloved dog, Lucy.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, John P. Leonard, her parents, Harry A. and Ferryl Schroeder, and her great-grandson, Jameson Leonard. She is survived by her children, Joanne Leonard Goodmon (Roger), John R. Leonard, and Amy D. Leonard (Kyle); her grandchildren, Cara Royster (Brandon), April Goodmon (Heath), Shauna Graves (Ryan), Holly Goodmon (John), Ryan Leonard (Tiffany), Justin Leonard, Denisa LaVecchia, and Toni McBee (Andrew); and her great-grandchildren, Annie G. Goodmon, Austin Reed, Tyler Reed, Riley Graves, Zoey Graves, Kathryn Spinoso, Hadleigh Leonard, Anevay Leonard, Mason Leonard, Daniel Leonard, Lilleigh Leonard, Kody LaVecchia, Alexander Royster and (soon-to-arrive) Luke McBee.
Visitation for Ann will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2 in the mausoleum chapel at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery in Gardendale, Alabama, followed by the funeral at 11:00
