

She leaves behind a son, Scott Wilson (Heather); a daughter, Tracy Wilson (Larry Crump); four grandchildren, Jessica Tapia (Noah), Brandon Crump (Anna Lynch), Zachary Wilson (Catherine), Tyler Wilson (Melanie); five great grandchildren, Bryson Wilson, Kaia and Ember Crump, Colt Wilson and Brandon; she also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Clark, Eddie Smith; and one brother, Robert Collins; and one sister in law, Mary Collins. She also leaves behind a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Sadie Collins; four brothers, JC, Donald, Harry, and Tommy Collins; 2 sisters, Christine Hooper and Jean Wilson.
Barbara (Babs), was a graduate of Phillips High School and studied at The University of Alabama Birmingham where she excelled in writing short stories and poetry.. She was an Executive Secretary for many years and wore many hats as she was a single mother.
Her greatest accomplishment was her love and support of her family. She was a Christian and loved the Lord.
Babs loved to dance. She also enjoyed fishing, especially with her son and grandsons’. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and Bingo with her Mom and sisters. In retirement her love was for flea marketing and yard sales. For at least 25 years she worked as an assistant and had 8 booths in Gardendale Antique and Flea Mall until they closed their doors.
She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, her strong will, her quick wit, her kind and giving heart, her fashion and stylish matching outfits, shoes and jewelry, her love of blue eyeshadow, and lastly her whistling any time of day.
A visitation for Barbara Ann Wilson will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM.
