Buiel Ray Chafin, age 65 passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, and Friend. He lived in Collierville, TN, for 25 years, but originally was from Corner, Alabama. He was a pilot since the age of 18 and loved to fly. Airplanes were his passion. He was employed with American Airlines on April, 1979, where he was a pilot for 29 years; 19 of those as a Captain. He chose early retirement on August 28, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cohen and Helen Chafin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Pam; and his daughter Tamara Harris, and many beloved friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 12th from 5 until 8 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel followed by a graveside service on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in Pleasant Hill Church of Christ Cemetery in Warrior, AL. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
