LUCAS, Carl Dennis, a resident of Morris, AL, was born on February 26, 1935 in Morris, AL and a former resident of Huntsville, AL. for many years. Carl passed away on September 3, 2013 at the age of 78. Carl was a 1953 graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School and retired from SCI Systems Inc. after 35 years of dedicated service. Carl was preceded in death by his parents Fred M. and Nancy Iula Headley Lucas and a sister, Jewel Dean Hughes. He is survived by his wife Jane; son, Michael Lucas of Huntsville, AL.; step-son, Wayne Piper; daughter, Marcia Lucas of Huntsville, AL; step-daughter, Mindy Dennis (Jeff); brothers Ronald Lucas (Barbara) and Richard Lucas; grandchildren, Kirsti Piper, Maryjustice Lucas, Amanda Dennis and Abby Dennis; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, September 5, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a graveside service in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL, on Friday, September 6, at 11:00am.
