Carl T. McDonald of Mt. Olive passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the age of 74. Carl was a man of strong work ethic and a valued member of the Alabama National Guard during his service years. Later he became a sales rep for Shasta Beverage and a founding leader of the Stock Car and NASCAR merchandising industry. Carl was quite the business man, prankster, and family man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edith McDonald; parents, William Obidia and Dicie Ann Cole McDonald; brother, Willie McDonald, Jr.; sisters, Flora Mae Lockhart, Nola Ellen Burton, Ella Dean Crabtree, and Mary Fae Leatherwood. He is survived by his loving family, a son, Tim McDonald and his wife Katherine; his granddaughter, Rachel Allison McDonald; a brother, Clarence Thomas McDonald; sisters, Jimmie Nell Stubr and Nancy McKnew Ludowtice.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
