Charles Eugene Shook, a resident of Fultondale, AL, was born in Ensley, AL, on February 24, 1941 and he passed away peacefully at his home on September 1, 2017 surrounded by his family at the age of 76. Charles proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron for a while and he retired from the Alabama Power Company. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, and he cherished his family and loved spending time with them.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louise Shook and a sister, Paulette Moore.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Celeste Lavecchia; a brother, Walter Shook; a sister, Dorothy Smith (Gary); grandchildren, Alexandrea Russell, Zachary Torrillo, Andrew Torrillo, and Brittany Lavecchia; many other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, Sep. 3, 2017 beginning at 1:30pm followed by a graveside service in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL, at 3:00pm.
