

Cheryl Melinda Hardin, 75, of Gardendale, AL, passed away on January 30, 2025. Born on October 5, 1949, Cheryl was a person whose kindness and generosity touched all aspects of her life, making her beloved in her community and beyond.
Cheryl dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at UAB, from which she retired after many years of devoted service. Her commitment to her profession was paralleled by her dedication to her faith, actively participating in both Beechwood Baptist and Enon Baptist churches. Her life was marked by a love for her family, which was her greatest joy and priority. Cheryl was a masterful cook, known among her family and friends for her delicious meals, which were only a part of how she expressed her love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cheryl is survived by her sons, Scott Renshaw (Dennis), Chris Renshaw (Pam), and Marc Renshaw; her sisters, Cecilia Pearce and Connie Hill; grandchildren, Blake Renshaw (Andee), Nick Renshaw, Katie Renshaw Hoyle (Caleb), Regan Johnson (Jacob), and Cameron Renshaw; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Burklee Renshaw, Scout and Birdie Hoyle, and Kingslee and Dallas Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews who she all loved dearly.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, OL and Grace Ogletree, and her brother, Gene Ogletree. Cheryl's life was a testament to the power of giving and loving unconditionally. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Services for Cheryl will be held at the Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, with a time of visitation to begin at 1:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. She will be entombed following the service.
