Christian Abel Hernandez

Christian Abel Hernandez, age 24 passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was born on February 23, 1999 to Abel Hernandez and Pat Hernandez. Christian was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. He attended Gardendale High School and he most recently was working as a carpenter for MSE Building Company.

Christian was polite but was quite the jokester to those he was closest to. His four brothers became the target of most all his jokes and pranks but saved some for the rest of his family and friends. Christian loved animals especially his dogs, Shiloh, Jax, and Casanova. He loved a "Christian Special Cheeseburger" which consisted of two homemade hamburger patties with three slices of cheese strategically placed between the buns and patties. Christian loved everything about cars, working on them, driving them, designing them, and the faster they go the more he loved them! Family meant everything to Christian, he loved and respected his parents, he was the protector of his four younger brothers and best friends with each of them. The stories shared around the many bonfires the brothers would have included laughs, lessons, and so many memories.

Christian is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leon Powell. He is survived by his mother, Pat Hernandez; his father and stepmother, Abel and Fanny Hernandez; his brothers, Jake, Adrian, Gael, and William Hernandez; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Powell, his paternal grandparents, Abel and Oraila Hernandez; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved pup, Jax.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Christians' Life will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel beginning at 2:00 pm. Christian will be laid to rest at Cluster Springs Cemetery immediately following services.
