Chris Armstrong was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. For most of his life, Chris was a truck driver to provide for his family. When faced with cancer, he told his family two important things. The first was that he was right with God and was ready should he pass. The second was a loving conclusion that he had been blessed with a good life. He was able to watch his beautiful granddaughter (his princess) get married and begin her new life. He found great pride in his grandson becoming a Marine. Lastly, he watched as his other grandson grew a beautiful family, giving him three great-grandsons – Mason, Maddix and Matsen. In the last year, Chris was blessed to have been able to see those boys daily. Watching them play lit up his last days.
Chris was known for being an amazing cook and always being willing to share that talent with others. He never met a stranger and he always made sure others knew they were welcome any time. Having always given of himself to help others, Chris was beloved by all. While his family and friends will miss him greatly, they rejoice in knowing they will see him on the other side.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Grady “Hub” Armstrong; his brothers, Elton Armstrong and Butch Handley
Chris is survived by his wife, Frances (Jones) Armstrong, his sons: Kenneth (Kristy) Armstrong and Daniel (B.J.) Armstrong, grandchildren: Karley (Justin) Odom, Austin (Kerragan) Armstrong and Keegan Armstrong, great grandsons: Mason, Maddix, and Matsen, His mother, Laura Ruth Armstrong
