Christy Leigh Hunter

Christy Hunter is survived by her husband Eric Hunter, sons Nicholas Hunter (Kristen) and Benjamin Hunter (Kayleigh), daughter Ella Hunter, grandson Kasey Hunter (Ben), mother Pamela (Missildine) Hill, father Thomas Hill (Tommy) , sister Jennifer Dockery (Bobby), brother Billy Hill (Erica), brother-in-law Larry Hunter, sister-in-law Francis Taylor (Tony), sister-in-law Rebecca Dye (Larry), nephews Joshua Dye ( Natalie), Phillip Dye (Madeline), Alex Taylor (Alli), Blake Howell and Thomas Hill, niece Crystal Dockery, great-nephews Henry, Charles and Joseph Dye (Joshua Dye), great-niece Arlee, great nephew Ellis (Alex Taylor).

She was also beloved by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of her family.

Christy enjoyed hot wings, vacations at Gulf Shores and Gatlinburg, selling Legos on eBay, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, including Wendy and Lynn Dyer. She had a generous heart, and was fiercely loyal and protective of her loved ones. She was a doting mother to her children, those that she gave birth to, and also to many children that she considered her own as well.

Her family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Gynecological Oncology team at UAB Hospital, the nursing staff at the GYNX floor of the Women and Infants center at UAB Hospital, New Beacon Hospice, and also the 7th floor nursing staff at Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital.

A visitation for Christy will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
