Clara Ruth Nichols

April 17, 1917 – October 20, 2015

Clara Ruth Moody Nichols, 98, of Pinson, AL, died Oct 20, 2015. She was born in Ethridge, TN, April 17, 1917. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinson, AL, where for many years she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and WMU officer. She was a loving, faithful homemaker for her family.

Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband Ray A. Nichols; her daughter, Janice Kay Nichols; her parents, Rev. J.C. and Lucy Moody, and 10 siblings.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by a son, Delbert Ray (Madeline) Nichols of Blountville, TN; daughters, Clara “Patsy” Nell (Jerry) Baggett of Pinson, and Annette (Pat) Slate of Parrish, FL – special son James Bice of Pinson and special daughter Jeanette McGahey of Pinson; grandchildren, David (Angie) Nichols, Michelle (Mark) Ledford, Joy Nichols, Cynthia (Tom) Rogers, Doris Ann (Jon) Vann, Pamela (Ed) Wise, Brandon Parkin Baggett, AnnaRuth Slate, and a sister Nell Huffman. She enjoyed 14 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services with be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation on Saturday, Oct 24, 5-7pm and Sunday, Oct 25, 1-2pm; funeral service on Sunday, Oct 25, 2:00pm followed by her burial in Mt. Carmel Methodist Church at Berlin in Cullman, AL. Rev. Robert Thornton, Rev. Harold Donald, and Rev. Percy Byrd officiating.
