Coolidge Jackson Burcham, 90, of Fultondale, died on September 13, 2015. He was born in Russellville, Alabama, to Robert and Mossie Burcham.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He sailed to Iraq, Egypt, and Okinawa and passed through both the Suez and Panama Canals. He retired from McWane Pipe Company in 1987.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Frances, his parents, sister Gladys Thomas, brothers Mack, Bill, Dan, Bobby and Jimmy Burcham.
He is survived by his children Shirley (CQ) Conde, Martha (Randy) Gabel, and Sarah Burcham (Gene Slone); grandchildren Kelly Logan, Kerri Creekmore, Corey Gabel, Warren Gabel and Abigail Slone; great-grandchildren Alex Pavlicko, McKenzie Velez-Hernandez, Madison Velez, Steven Smith, Blake Creekmore, and Joseph Gay; brothers Roy (Ruth) and Tommy (Faye) Burcham; sisters-in-law Mary Burcham, Alsie Fisher and Nettie Fisher; numerous extended family members and many friends.
Jack was a member of Walkers Chapel Baptist Church. He was a faithful and humble servant of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17th, at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family only graveside will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
