Dakota, a student at Hayden High School and member of the Hayden First Baptist Church went home to be with the Lord at the age of 15. She is survived by her mother, Pati Helms, father and step mother, David and Vickie Helms; grandparents, J.B. and Linda Helms, Wallace Phillips and Betty Blackberry; siblings, Derrick Helms (Glenda), Cody Helms, Dwayne Mooney (Mystie), Tangela Barker (John), and Candiss Thomas (William), nephew Devin Plyler, niece, Eva Thomas; several cousins and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation, Friday, Jan 30, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm; a funeral service on Saturday, Jan 31, 2015 at 11:00 with her burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Leeds, AL. Rev, Christopher Edward West officiating.
