Darrell Jones

Darrell graduated from Jones Valley High School. He was the former owner of Darrell's Tire in Gardendale, Alabama. He served chairman as the President of the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce, President of Alabama Tire Dealers, Chairman of deacons, and deacon at Gardendale First Baptist Church.

Darrell was a loving and devoted husband and father and the best "Dumps" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he cherished so dearly.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsay Jones and Grace Strength Jones; his son, Kirk Darrell Jones, and a brother, Harold Wayne Jones.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sharon Abbott Jones; his daughter, Leslie Jones Bradley (Doug); Daughter-in-law, Sherry Jones Kadle; grandchildren, Lindsay Jones, Kindall Cornelius (Chase), and Lee Wideman (Lynn); great-grandchildren, Thea Taylor Wideman, Lena James Cornelius, Brandon Romine, Mia Romaine, and McKenzie Romine, and many friends.

A visitation for James will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. James will be laid to rest in Moncrief Cemetery, 2055 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL.
