Elizabeth Juanita (Gooch) Smith

Known to all as Juanita, she is survived by son Lynn Smith (Lynn); daughters Diane Whittemore (Johnny); and Sherri Cole; brothers Ernest Gooch, James "Willard" Gooch, Milton "Doodle" Gooch and Mike Gooch.

Loved ones who preceded her in death include her loving husband, Ernest Smith; parents Edward and Lillie Gooch; sisters Ruby Lee Suite; Marie Hodges and Linda Cheek.

Mrs. Smith also is survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with many nieces and nephews.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known to enjoy dancing and the occasional bingo game. She truly loved her family with all her heart.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 12:00 noon till 1:30 pm at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, in the Fireside Parlor of the funeral home. Following the visitation there will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Bivens Chapel Cemetery, 3581 Cherry Ave, Birmingham, AL 35214.
