Georgia Virginia Goodyear, age 79 of Fultondale, AL, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Mrs. Goodyear was a longtime member of New Georgia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Joe E. Goodyear. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving family, her children, Kent Goodyear, Melissa Goodyear, Charles “Joey” Barnett, Susan McCoy, and Belinda Edwards; a brother, Johnny Parks; grandchildren, Keleigh Carradine, Chase Chandler, Daniel Hill, Justin Chandler, Katelyn Trusty, Jennifer Jackson, Ricky Edwards, Brandon Barnett, and Ashley Barnett; Six great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM. Chapel funeral services will be held on Friday beginning at 12 Noon followed by entombment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In leiu of flowers the family ask that donations please be made to New Georgia Baptist Church, 5300 Decatur Highway, Birmingham, AL 35207 in her honor.
