Grace Larue Nelson

Grace LaRue Nelson, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday December 3, 2023, at the age of 97. She was a longtime resident of Smoke Rise, Alabama where she was a homemaker and member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church.

LaRue is preceded in death by her husband, Edward F Nelson; parents, Otis, and Gertie Jackson; her two sisters, Geraldine Candler, and Reba Prater.

Survivors include her daughters, Louise Brooks (Dile), Lynne Skinner (Anthony); grandchildren, Selene Rice (Larry), Heather Cope, Jennifer Wolford (Clay), Tommy Candler (Michele);10 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Jackson (Audrey); and many other family members and a host of friends.

A graveside service is to be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville on December 11, 2023, at 1:00pm.

The family of Mrs. Nelson would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Hanceville Nursing and Rehab, and SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice Service of Cullman, for their loving care and support.
