Gwendolyn Jones

JONES, Gwendolyn, age 76 of Warrior, Alabama, passed from this earthly life and into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 24, 2013. Gwen was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Olive. For a number of years, she was a resident of Forestdale and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Meredith Bonds and Mother, Ada Cowart Bonds; five brothers, Coleman, Olen, Alvin E., Moxie and Ronald Bonds; six sisters, Edith, Juanita and Virginia Bonds, Geneva Manning, Aliene Shipman and Jacquelyn Lynn; four brothers-in-law, Edward Manning, Roy Lynn, Buford Shipman and Dr. Walter M. Fox.

She is survived by her husband Gene Jones; two children, Dr. John Phillips and his wife Kate of Birmingham, AL and daughter, Lisa Phillips of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Robert and Madgeline Phillips; two step children, Shane and Sherri Jones; two sisters, Geraldine Bonds and Joyce Fox; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine and Paulette Bonds; and many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at 12:00 with visitation time from 11:00 a.m. until noon. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens.
