Harold Thompson Cooper, age 90 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church and retired from Oxmoor Press. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Cooper; parents, Luther and Hattie Cooper; and brother, James Cooper. Harold is survived by his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Cooper; children, Tom Cooper (Judy) of Birmingham and his daughter, Linda Kelley (Ted) of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Keith Cooper, Matt Cooper (Emile), Tracey Kelley, and Allen Kelley (Suzanne); and six great grandchildren.
Chapel services will be Thursday, December 15th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Rev. George Weeks will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the senior department of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church.
