

Henry Nerud, of Birmingham, was born in Dodge County, Minnesota and passed away at the age of 71. He served in the US Air Force and he retired from Bellsouth as a cable splicing technician after 30 years of service. Among his highest accomplishments is that he married the love of his life and fathered two children of whom he was always amazed by. He was a man of honor and integrity, pride and intelligence, and numerous adventures, stories and experiences cultivated throughout his life. He loved his family with all of his heart and sacrificed everything he had for his wife, his children and his grandson.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wilcutt Nerud, his parents, Benjamin and Anna Nerud, and two of his brothers, Robert and Myles Nerud.
Henry is survived by his son, Miles Henry Nerud; daughter, Stephanie Sarah Nerud Bright; grandson, Jackson Tanner Bright; two brothers and two sisters; nieces, nephews and a host of friends who he loved as family.
Services will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation to begin at 11:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 1:30 p.m.
