

Survived by his loving wife Sandra M. Echols of 43 years of Quinton, AL, son Jeremy P. Echols and granddaughter, Serenity Echols. He was preceded in death by his parents Faery Irvin, James Irvin and brother, Robert T. Echols.
Jimmy was a high school graduate of Banks High School in Birmingham, AL which no longer exists. Go Jets! Jimmy who was nicknamed “Buckethead” worked for CSX Railroad for 23 years. He worked hard to provide for his family. He also enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, food (bacon in particular) and cheering on the Crimson Tide. He enjoyed raising chickens for fresh eggs, planting food in the garden and honey from beekeeping. Jimmy dabbled in many things. Jimmy always ended a call with I Love You and meant it. Even though his death was unexpected you knew he loved you. Jimmy lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by his family and friends.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fireside parlor at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel Funeral Home, 2029 Decatur Highway Gardendale, AL 35071
